We have dedicated teams who specialise in slate and tiling ensuring quality and standards are maintained at all times. Our slate and tiling contracting services range from new builds to commercial coverings across all markets and sectors.

We use a vast range of product types, from concrete interlocking and small format natural slates, to man-made and reclaimed slate, and clay.

To ensure that demands are met we import slate directly from quarries from Spain and Brazil where slate is produced exclusively for WCR Group. We only use slate that this graded to the European Standard BS EN 12326-1 and -2. All products are purchased from leading suppliers or imported directly from quarries in Spain and Brazil where the Berbier slate is produced exclusively for us.

Market leaders such as Lafarge roofing systems, Marley Eternit, & SIG are important links to our supply chain, each has strategically placed manufacturers and distribution points, making products readily available.

We employ qualified leadsmiths who work in conjunction with the roof tilers and slaters. Ensuring all detailing required is installed in accordance with BS 5534 Slating & Tiling.

Timber battens – WCR Group only use products certified to FSC & PEFC to ensure all timber used has come from and are actively working towards helping maintain sustainable forests.

WCR only use factory pre graded batten to ensure it is safe, strong and as long lasting as possible, all batten are clearly marked with the standard and dyed either Red, Blue or Gold.

The roof can then be completed with a number of materials available including natural slate, manmade slate, clay or concrete tile.

When selecting the roof covering a number of factors need consideration these include: planning restrictions, aesthetic requirements, site exposure, pitch of the roof and finally cost. Slates and tiles come in a variety of shapes, sizes, textures and colours. There are several different fixing methods to suit any design requirement, with a vast range of ridge, verge, valley, flashing and dryfix systems to cater for specific applications and different sets of conditions.
